Weather in Barcelona is pleasant for most of the year, but you will experience the absolute best weather from May till end of July making these months most attractive for a visit. September is also a good month.
On the northeastern coast of the Iberian Peninsula and the shores of the Mediterranean, Barcelona is the second largest city in Spain in both size and population, and the capital of Catalonia. The Old City (Ciutat Vella) is made up of a maze of meandering streets, alleys and squares, where Gothic monuments and contemporary skyscrapers are accompanied by world-class museums and ancient fountains trickle in quiet plaças. Beyond lies the architectural glories of Gaudí and the Modernistas, the long stretch of beach, the hills of Montjuïc and Tibidabo, and parts of the city with a whole different feel, untouched by the hand of tourism.
